So here I am. It’s Saturday night and I’m sitting on my flight, with an hour to go before reaching the sunshine state…and God knows I could use a little sunshine since winter weather has returned to NY. But I digress. We have business to discuss.
Once again, Saturday morning has come and gone and that means it was time to check to see what progress I was able to make (those of you that remember, there was absolutely no change last week.) Well I am happy to report that some change has at least occurred once again this week.
- Bust -35 inches (since last week 1 inch lost)
- Waist -29 inches (since last week .5 inch lost)
- Hips -42 inches (since last week .5 inch lost)
- Thighs -21 inches (since last week 1 inch lost)
- Arms – 12.5 inches (since last week .25 inch lost)
This would now bring my total amount of inches lost from last month, when I first started, to:
- Bust – 3 inches
- Waist – 2.5 inches
- Hips – 2.5 inches
- Thighs – 2 inches
- Arms – 1.5 inches
Definitely not going to complain about any of that! Especially considering I wasn’t as active as I would’ve liked to have been this week. You see, after going to the gym on Monday to focus on some strength training, I overworked a muscle in my pelvic area, which made it extremely difficult for me to walk all week. Apparently I only exacerbated the issue when I wore heels to work the next day. Ouch.
One last workout
Today was the first day I really felt like my muscle was (mostly) healed. And while I really had to pack and run a few errands before our flight, I convinced Mike to head to the gym again with me early in the morning. The thought of going two weeks with no workout was not appealing to me at all, especially after seeing the progress my body was making. (For those of you wondering, no there was no pizza or bagels, just a big bowl of tootsie rolls…don’t even get me started.)
Because I was just newly healed, I focused mostly on strengthening my upper body today, a good portion of my time being spent on the assisted pull up machine (I do have my challenges to meet!)
It felt great getting that last workout in before vacation and I’m thrilled with the progress I’ve been able to make this far. I’m finally starting to see a difference in my body and I can’t wait to get back and continue the progress.
Wait? What did she say? Wait until she gets back? What does that mean Des? Surely you’ll continue to workout won’t you?
Nope. Well not intentionally anyway. I’m going on vacation and I plan to enjoy every minute of my vacation, while enjoying my healthier lifestyle. I’ll continue to eat as well as I can while away, and I plan to swim and walk a lot everywhere but other than that, I’m not going to worry about my progress now. I want to enjoy the time away with my husband. I don’t believe one week away will undue any of the good I’ve spent 5 weeks working on. And when I get back I’ll be more motivated than ever to get back on schedule and work towards my goals and challenges!
See you in a week!
